Flood Relief – 2010 Floods
In 2010, OMEED worked with numerous volunteers and local organizations to deliver food and emergency supplies to remote villages in the Neelum Valley that were badly affected by the floods in July of 2010.
Remote areas of Azad Kashmir such as the villages of Jogran and Guraiz in Neelum Valley were badly affected by the floods in July 2010. OMEED was one of the first organizations to deliver food packages and supplies to these villages. We coordinated efforts with numerous volunteers and organizations to make and deliver food packages of flour, rice, cooking oil, tea leaves, sugar, dried milk, candles and soap tofamilies. Other supply packages that we delivered included pillows, bed sheets, and comforters; and cooking utensils, kerosene oil, water coolers with water purification tablets.
